Sapporo🇯🇵

For digital nomads eyeing Japan, this northern hub offers a refreshing change of pace. You'll find it genuinely affordable, particularly for rent, making your budget stretch further than in major cities. This allows for a comfortable lifestyle without breaking the bank. Connectivity is solid, with fast, reliable internet infrastructure, so your work setup will be smooth. The city boasts excellent public transport and a very high sense of safety, allowing you to explore freely day and night. Sapporo is best suited for those who appreciate a calmer, more integrated experience rather than a bustling international scene. The nomad community is quite small, and English proficiency is generally low. This means you'll have ample opportunities to dive into local culture, practice Japanese, and enjoy authentic experiences, but don't expect a huge expat bubble or English-speaking services around every corner. It's a fantastic, albeit quiet, base for independent spirits.
