Pisa🇮🇹

Dreaming of la dolce vita without breaking the bank? Pisa offers a genuinely affordable base for digital nomads in Italy. While perhaps not the first city that comes to mind, it provides a charming, less tourist-centric Italian experience than its more famous neighbors, making it ideal for those seeking a quieter, authentic vibe. Rent, especially for a central one-bedroom, is quite manageable, and overall living expenses are appealingly lower than many European hot spots. You'll find decent internet speeds here, reliable enough for most remote work, though perhaps not cutting-edge. The local expat and nomad community is present but on the smaller side, meaning you'll need to be proactive in seeking connections. Safety generally feels good, though, like any city, it pays to be aware, especially after dark. The honest caveat? While English proficiency is growing, particularly in tourist-heavy areas, you'll greatly enhance your experience and integration by learning some Italian. It's a key to unlocking the true local charm beyond the Leaning Tower.
