Lombok🇮🇩

Living in Lombok as a digital nomad offers a laid-back, authentic Indonesian experience, quite different from its bustling neighbor. It's generally quite affordable, making your budget stretch further than in many other popular nomad hubs. This makes it ideal for those seeking a slower pace and genuine immersion, rather than a vibrant, established nomad scene – the community here is notably smaller and more dispersed. While internet can be reliable in popular areas, don't expect blazing speeds everywhere; connectivity can be patchy, so a reliable backup is wise. The local infrastructure is developing, but still less advanced than in major cities. A significant consideration is that English proficiency among locals is often low, which can sometimes make day-to-day interactions and navigating services more challenging without basic Bahasa Indonesia. It’s a place for those willing to embrace a more local, less streamlined lifestyle.
